Can you believe we are in May already???
It’s starting to fell like spring here in Scotland, yay. I was inspired by all the flowers beginning to shoot up for this months card for The Flower Challenge.
To start I cut a piece of cold pressed watercolour card to 3” x 6” and also made a custom size cardbase (still to make the envelope).
I used ranger archival black ink, which is waterproof, and a little bit of masking to create my scene with a Bloom from Altenew Golden Garden set. This is my go to floral set, I’ve def have my moneys worth with this one for a change.
Next I watercoloured the flowers using peerless watercolours in a variety of reds, pinks, yellows and oranges. Then I stamped the same flower on vellum, staz-on would be best for this but I couldn’t find mine. I then used zig clean colour markers to colour the backgrounds with a water brush, just enough water to blend the colours. This did make them curl a bit, but I actually liked the extra dimension.
I adhered my panel to my notecard, stuck down the vellum flowers with liquid glue just on the steam and added a strip of black cardstock along the bottom. Next I heat embossed my sentiment – The Happy is by Reverse Confetti and the anniversary from Sweet N Sassy Stamps – with fine detail hero arts white embossing powder on black cardstock and added this to my panel with 3d foam squares. For a finishing touch I add white gel pen details to the centre of my flowers.
I do hope you will all come over and look at all the other amazing inspiration from the Design Team and join us at The Flower Challenge.
