Hey my lovely peeps!
Would you like a sneak peek of today’s colourful baby card?
Isn’t it bright and fun? I had such a great time with this background. I tried a new technique (to me) and am surprised it kind of (?) worked. I downloaded a digital file from Winnie and Walter called Mini Scenery:multi-faceted elements and cut it out of acetate with my silhouette cameo so that I had a stencil. I then ink smooshed distress inks – mustard seed, wild honey and cracked pistachio – over the stencil. I didn’t add too much water and I think that helped it not bleed to much. Can you see the geometric shapes? Here is the template stencil I used:
I think I’ve talked enough, so here is the full card.
I stamped my sentiment using my mini Misti on to the watercoloured base once it was dry to ensure a crisp bold sentiment. I just love that I hardly ever waste cards due to wonky or badly stamped sentiments anymore! I also watercoloured the cute critters (who says a bunny can’t be blue/green?), fussy cut them and assembled all the elements on a bright yellow card base. The critters, hearts and sentiments are from the Winnie and Walter Welcome to the Family set.
I’m entering this card into the following challenges:
Winnie and Walter Bright Colours Challenge with Lydia
Winnie and Walter Stencil Challenge with Kelly
Winnie and Walter Ink Smooshing Challenge with Heather H
Winnie and Walter Cute Critter Challenge with Gayatri
Winnie and Walter Three Challenge with Shay – I used three ink colours for smooshing, three techniques (stencil, smooshing and watercolouring) and added three stamped heart embellishments.

Love, love, love! I almost feel like I should be looking for hidden shapes in your stencil-smooshed background. What a great effect! Thanks for experimenting and sharing the results with us! And thanks again for joining the w&w stencil challenge

Thank you so much Kelly! I am loving these challenges, and I was so pleased with how this background turned out. I hope to experiment some more soon.
